The story of the journey of the Isra’ and the Mi’raj and the date of the occurrence of the Isra’ and the Mi’raj is a matter of great disagreement among the scholars. Some of them said that it took place on Monday night on the twelfth of Rabi’ al-Awwal, and some of them said that it happened one year before the migration of the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, in the month of Rabi’ al-Awwal. Some of them said that it happened sixteen months before the migration in Dhu al-Qa’dah, and it was said that it was in the twelfth year of the prophecy in the month of Rabi’ al-Awwal, and yet the incident of Isra and Mi’raj remains a miracle that baffled the polytheists at all times and places, and it is an important event in the Islamic religion in which families were captured. By the Prophet Muhammad - may God bless him and grant him peace - from the city of Mecca, in which he lived, to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the Holy House, on the back of an animal called Al-Buraq, and then ascended with it to the seven heavens, and it is called Sidrat Al-Muntaha, in which he saw the prophets and imposed the five daily prayers.
